Stories about the Postcrossing community and the postal world

Have you ever heard of the LGBTQ+ VR museum? It’s a virtual reality exhibition that tours the world, featuring artifacts, artwork and stories of LGBTQ+ people. The stories behind these objects are truly moving, and their presentation in an interactive medium makes them even more special. Here’s a preview:

When the exhibition was hosted in London by Deloitte in November 2022, visitors could leave notes at the end, sharing their thoughts. Each card had a prompt like “Advice to my younger queer self” or “I think it’s important to live authentically, because…” or “I’m an LGBTQ+ ally because…” and lots of people left their thoughts on their way out.

After the event, some of these anonymous reflections were picked up by Deloitte’s designers and turned into a collection of beautiful hand-drawn postcards!

An animated gif that rotates through all the postcard designs in this collection. The cards all have sayings and feature colorful designs and calligraphy

When Deloitte heard about Postcrossing recently, they realized this would be the perfect way to spread these postcards out into the world, and have them reach people out there — and we couldn’t agree more! These joyful postcards deserve to make their way into the hands of the people we love and are proud of! Like they say, “A story shared is a person seen”, and we want people to know that we see them.

A pack of postcards lays on a wooden table. The cover of the pack features a colorful design that reads A story shared is a person seen

So Deloitte partnered with us to give out 100 packs of 5 postcards each, to 100 postcrossers out there! To participate in this giveaway, just leave a comment on this blog post telling us who you would send one of these postcards to. Maybe to someone you love? Or someone you know who could use a bit of encouragement and support? Or maybe you would save it for the next person who mentions being part of the LGBT community on their Postcrossing profile? We want to know how far and wide these postcards will travel!

A collage of all the postcards from Deloitte, featuring colorful designs and calligraphy

This giveaway will run for 2 weeks, and Paulo’s random number generator will select 100 winners when the giveaway closes. We’ll post the winners on this blog post then, and if you’re a winner, you’ll also receive an email from us. Good luck, everyone!

And the winners of this giveaway, as chosen by Paulo’s random number generator are… romiknaa, vloki, Kitaloko, swandog, SimoneB, charzevans, AndyBeau, Windows95, dogfan, Myrake, LucanBoy, 400TX, rutkiuss, vw08, froukjeb, thecottonwoods, Iain0154, asuayan, hairygranola, AlohaJoe, Reisegern, ScubaET, Casehandler, cardexplorer_1, GermanInArabia, Kanjada, ricrui3, sohnderleere, vanessavan, Smiley, imtuz, Julia1506, Portiariana, Luziaceleste, scrabblebum, Aqality2, Butternut_Jen, nichaha, Kwiche, badgirlsclubjpeg, Selena, Anka-89, ryangray, dackelerna, SassyChicken, StarStickersAJ, Lylaaaaa, cwalther, TwasBrillig, gabrand, nekelin, Dodoki, maengelexemplar, GayeDoreen, TigerLilyLeela, pamgran, menschenskind, Alysse, ThePostCat, flyingmomo, PCBlue, mkmk, Queen_of_the_Hounds, Linguamoris, Karina2005, micklpickl, Tarane, cysiphist, Chocola-t, Sammone, ctr, siff, QBert, lbp1961, rachaface, frncs, Aileen93, paloma_zl, Idler, jess_sea, valewritespostcards, Knirin, Ebi, avery27, Hadrill, mteton, CorgiLove, ned44440, kintsugi, milkiwei, OldManSea, MoominMog, AmandaB, EricTheMailman, Gummy, Troy-S, nublu, AbstraktesHerz, SingleTunePoet, hh_h4a, kitchentable, cataloger25, Evalefthanded and mondkind. This is a beautiful giveaway! I would love to be able to send one of these postcards to a friend of mine that lives on the other side of the US (or overseas)! Sending postcards is such a good way to bring people together. ☺️

on
Casehandler, United Kingdom

My same-sex partner of 22 years has sadly passed away this week. She was an advocate, mentor and champion to the young LGBTQ+ community and will be sadly missed by all who knew her. It would be great if, whoever wins a pack of these cards, could send them to younger people starting out on their life path, to let them know that their brothers, sisters and allies stand with them 🏳️‍🌈

on
alter3ch0, Finland

I would send one to my penpal. We are both queer (and here!). I would also send one to someone out there who might need some words from someone like them, especially if they feel alone. 🏳️‍🌈 I hope I'm lucky this time, as I've been on a look out for more rainbow cards to send to people I care about and future friends. :)

on
sadieturtlepants, United States of America

I would love to send these to my queer friends and family who need to know they’re supported and loved. Love needs to be spread in all the ways it can!

on
Ughandi, Netherlands

What an awesome gesture of them! I would love to send those cards to LGBTQ+ people around the world to spread the love as far and as much as possible.

on
Windows95, Canada

This is an amazing giveaway. I am part of the 2SLGBTQ+, so I would mail these postcards to postcrossers who identify as 2SLGBTQ+ to show solidarity and support. I would also mail some to my social work colleagues. Thank you, this is a wonderful giveaway!

on
TwasBrillig, United States of America

There have been many LGBTQ+ Postcrossers that I have come across - some have become well-situated in their lives and others are not (yet). These cards are so positive, I would save them for official cards to LGBTQ+ Postcrossers who sound like they could use the support and for the people I come across in the Forum who need a lift.

on
SchusterElse, Germany

Fabulous! Great cards! I come across quite a lot of profils on postcrossing pointing out an interest in LGBTQ+ themes. It would be great to send those cards out to them!

on
clbrown, United States of America

I would send these cool cards to all postcrossers who write they are part of the LGBTQ+ community :)

on
TanyaOtt, Germany

I would send these to Postcrossers who specify that they like postcards with LGBTQ+ plus themes - and I'd use the new Pride stamps from the German postal service on them!

on
RosefromAlpena, United States of America

These are beautiful! I love to spread joy and these postcards would certainly do that!

on
ThePostCat, Spain

These postcards are beautiful! I'd send one of these to a group of friends in Brighton (my home town) who were celebrating PRIDE in style last week. Brighton was a wonderful place to grow up, the unofficial gay capital of the UK and unashamedly progressive and liberal. Brighton has records relating to LGBTQ+ history dating back to the early 19th century - I'd recommend a visit to anybody and everybody 🏳️‍🌈

pumpkinpussycat, Canada

Lovely cards -- thanks for the giveaway.
I would send these to my Postcrossing friends and my family.

on
Skye111, Canada

These cards are lovely and have important messages. They belong everywhere. I would be proud to help spread their message.

on
Banjo, Netherlands

I would send them to my queer friends! I usually send cards to strangers through postcrossing, but this post made me realise I should send cards to my friends more often :)

on
jess_sea, United States of America

My queer friends for sure, as well as my friends' queer kiddos who need a little boost!

on
Nettydel, United States of America

I have cousins whom are lesbian, gay, and non binary. I would love to send them these cards to remind them that THIS family member accepts and loves them for who they are, no discrimination, no judgement!

on
Julia1506, Germany

I'd send them to postcrossers all over the world. I am bi AND i have a disability, too, so 🏳️‍🌈PRIDE🏳️‍🌈 means a lot to me. To say you love both a man and a Woman is one Thing. To live with autism in a world you don't understand is another.

on
beesknees, United States of America

lovely bright cards with great messages

on
jjv, Netherlands

I d use them for postcrossing.

Any profile that comes up askibg for lgbt cards.

on
neptice, United States of America

The postcards are lovely! I'd send them to other postcrossers who say they like cards with LGBTQ+ themes or motifs

on
romiknaa, United States of America

on
SimoneB, Netherlands

What a gorgeous giveaway!
I'd love to send the card to my friend Charlie, who just had gender affirming surgery and is being so incredible brave.

I also think everybody could use some cheerful cards celebrating love, what's not to like? ♡
Love = love!

on

So many prices this time! Wonderful.
I would sent them out as officials.

on
Sanni87, Germany

on
KarenNfld, Canada

Beautiful postcards! I would send them to fellow postcrossers.

on
Asofyetbrett, United States of America

The postcard designs are amazing. Early in our relationship, I sent my partner a postcard with a drawing of my day on a business trip. He liked it so much, I started surprising him with postcards more often -- and he keeps every one. I would love to send one of these giveaway postcards to him.

on
kroete68, Germany

So beautiful cards and a great giveaway. I would love to send them to postcrossers I know and as officials. They suit perfect to our new german "delivered with pride" stamps.
(By chance I already have some in stock ;) )

on
hola_olaaa, Spain

I love how the postcards are so colorful and full of good energy! 💃🕺 I would definitely send these postcards as official Postcrossing postcards to a person who mentions being part of the LGBT community on their Postcrossing profile or who likes to receive LGBTQ+ postcards. To tell the truth, it's difficult to find any LGBTQ+ postcards in general so it would be great to have some in my to-send stack! 😊

on
Treasure, Spain

🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍🌈 Those designs are gorgeous!!! I would love to send these beautiful cards to the postcrossers that in their profile mention they are part of the LGBTQ+ community. Thank you for this give away!!! 🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍🌈

on
ned44440, Ireland

My gorgeous niece would be so deserving of one of these beautiful cards. I would love to send one to her.

on
herol3oy, Poland

That's remarkable! I'd frame some of them in my room, send some to Postcrossers and some for my friends.

on
vloki, Netherlands

Great giveaway. I would use them for Postcrossing and maybe leave some in a library folder stand. With all the viciousness in the media and politics these past years against lgbtq people, especially against trans people, it's good to know Postcrossing is a safe place.

on
SylviaM, United States of America

I'll be attending a friend's wedding in November. I'm eager to meet Teresa's soon-to-be wife at the wedding and I'd love to give them a pack of the postcards for them to use proudly.

on
ennstalerin, Austria

Such great cards! I'd like to send them through Postcrossing and to some friends

on
Sammone, Netherlands

I would love to send one (or multiple) to my english friend who has recently come out as trans, she could really use the support.
And once I get back into my postcrossing vibes I would send them to anyone who mentions it on their profile, or for themed swaps on other mailing sites etc.

on
juliakay, United States of America

These are some of the best cards ever and I would certainly love to send some. This very kind of positivity is badly needed in our world today. I would send one to my LGBTQ daughter and her wife and my sisters eldest who is nonbinary. And then, to any LGBTQ postcrossers.

on
SkylineProphet, United States of America

These are beautiful! The hard part would be choosing only 5 friends to send one to 😅

on
brenbren, New Zealand

So gorgeous! I'd send them to fellow LGBTQ postcrossers ❤️🏳️‍🌈

on
cawindt, United States of America

These cards are awesome! I would send them to allies who have supported me over the years.

on
avery27, United States of America

These are stunning! I run in mostly queer circles, so choosing only 4 people (I’m keeping one for myself, doggonit!) to get graced with these would be tough! Queer connections and keeping alive queer culture is incredibly important to me.

on
Moonlight1978, Germany

If I would win, I would share these cards with my friends from LQBTQ+ community to show them they are not alone.
I
And I have matching pride stamps.
🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍⚧️

on
lucas42, United States of America

I would love to send these cards to Postcrossers who mention LGBTQ+ on their profile and anyone who needs some extra love! What great cards!

on
karpouzaki, United States of America

In only two years of Postcrossing, I have been very moved by several people who came out as queer through through their cards to me. Maybe people feel safe and emboldened to tell their 'secret' in a private communication with a sympathetic person thousands of miles away. I would send the cards to these new friends to affirm and encourage them.

on
giacaches, United States of America

What an awesome giveaway! I have lots of ideas for fellow queers who would love these designs.

on
justylev, United States of America

I have a very dear pen pal that I met through post-crossing 8 years ago.He is a disabled Vet injured in Afghanistan and needs a service dog and round-the-clock care. He and his partner have been together for 25 years. He is an avid postcrosser and such a kind person. I send him packets of postcards, stamps, tape etc but I do not have many LGBT kinds of post cards and I know he would love them. Thank you :-)

on
linku, Germany

send, send, send... to postcrossers, colour lovers, openminded people. Thanks to all creators!

on
sadielady, United States of America

What a great and inclusive giveaway! These would be so fun to send out and also fun to receive! I would definitely love saving these for someone on postcrossing who has a request for an LGBTQ card on their profile, as those cards aren't always easy to come across in generic tourist shops.

on
mamash, United States of America

I would share them to and in support of postcrossers who identify with the LGBTQ community. Cards of this nature are hard to find, but I did buy a handful at Notting Hill Bookshop : ). I would love to purchase a set if not chosen as a winner! 🌈❤️

on
ctr, Germany

Great cards! I would send them to 2 of my penfriends who are a lesbian and a gay, to a young lesbian I talked to her about Postcrossing and to Postcrossers who like lgbt+ cards.

on
Mokomis, United States of America

These cards would please anyone! But I would hold them back to send to self-identified LGBTQIA+ folx that came up in my lists; everyone deserves a little boost in the mail!

on
ScubaET, Netherlands

At least one of them would go to the person who made me realize I should add more books with queer characters on my reading list, I have learned so much and found a lot of joy in them!

on
SalishSea, United States of America

this is brilliant---i have a lot of people i would send them too--in fact i was-am in the process of doing my own, but including the rights of women which is a subject dear to my heart. Carry on the good work!
Hurrah--postcards of peace!

on
Lisa178, United Kingdom

I would given them to the LGBTQIA+ teenagers that I work with, supporting them with their mental health, teaching them strategies so that they can manage their mental health more independently

on
SgtTom, United States of America

Do not know anyone in the LGBTQ Community. However many of the postcrossing bios indicate indicate they are members of that community and I'm sure that they would love to receive a card like that from me. I think it's a great idea.

on
Anjanette, United States of America

This may be the most beautiful giveaway ever!

At least one would go to my transgender grandson who often feels like no one understands, or really listens. It’s so hard to feel so alone and like we might be the only one.

This is such an important work. Thank you to everyone involved!

on
Sinipiika, Finland

I'd send one to my godchild :)

on
SparklyTurnip, Australia

There are postcrossers who collect such postcards. I would send them to them. I always try to find a postcard exactly like the one written in the profile. Any contest is always interesting. Thanks for organizing.

on
Spence1971, Canada

I would send a card to each of my 5 friends who recently lost either their beloved pets, or significant other, over the past few weeks. Each of those friends are a part of the LGBTQ+ community, and I love them all so much!. Oh, and I have to say, these cards are all so stunning!! Thank you to the artists for such amazing work!

on
Potatosium, United Kingdom

Aquarius13, United States of America

I would send these cards to my LGBTA friends, and to any Postcrosser who indicates they would like to receive LGBTA themed cards.

on
circus_child, Germany

I would love to send this postcard to my sister. She is queer and needs a bit of support I think, since members of the LGBTQ+ community are underrepresented and can feel lost. I want to show her that she is valid, no matter what and that she can believe in herself - she is a great human being!

on
Flash11, United Kingdom

What a fab idea…I am a member of the LGBTQ+ community and I would keep one postcard for my partner of 27 years and send the rest to LGBTQ+ members and supporters in the postcrossing community. Thank you.

on
AccentOnHakes, United States of America

These are adorable! I would definitely send some out to friends in the queer community.

on
honeyfritter, United States of America

When i first joined postcrossing i would get a profile from someone who would like to receive something in support for the LBTGQ community. There have 3 to 5 people who strongly identified as gay and would have liked a card of support. I had nothing and still have nothing, but if i did have something i would revisit every profile I’ve been assigned (all 500+) and ensure whomever wanted one would receive one. Because it’s nice to feel accepted by people wherever they may be.

on
Acuutje, Netherlands

I love these and would sent one to my son

on
nekelin, Netherlands

What wonderful postcards! Is there any chance I would be able to purchase them in future?
If I am lucky enough to win a set, I would send them to a queer friend of mine who is in the last phase of their life and mail is one of the few highlights of their day

I would give one at Annie: a 29 year old lesbian who grew up in deep South. It’s not easy to be different there. We shared stories about being gay while she cut my hair.
We both felt blessed.

on
DemianLV, United States of America

on
400TX, United States of America

on
Dodoki, United States of America

Oh honestly? I'd just send em all out to my circle of super gay buddies!

on
Poltrudy, United States of America

I love, love, love these postcards. I absolutely love the idea of the give away. I have a neice that just came out to family and friends. She is receiving mixed feelings about this from different people. I would send her a postcard to tell her that I am Infinity% behind her and love her. There is no place for hate in this world and these cards are another way to spread love, kindness, and acceptance throughout the world. Also, I make junk journals and I am making a pride journal currently for a co-worker of mine. I use postcards as decorations in my journals - so these cards would be so special in his journal. How can I also purchase these cards?

on
KittenMittens, United States of America

I would send a postcard to @CStar9, who runs the Blast From The Past round robin on the Postcrossing forum. I enjoy her journalism on postcards and she is also a very kind, fun person. on
OpalTrelore, United States of America

I would send one to my sibling who recently came out as trans and had a bad experience with our dad.

on
RomaandPaul, United States of America

Oh, I'd definitely share it with PostCrossers who mention an interest in LGBTQ+ cards in their profiles. In the nine years I've been doing this, I've been on the lookout for cards like these that would be so wonderful to have on hand to share with people who are eager to receive them. And I'd love to be able to be a small part of that person's day to let them know that in this small way they're seen and supported by me.

on
Annieqc, Canada

What a beautiful way to send hope. I would like to post these to people who don't have the chance to be themselves and experience love the way they want.

How lovely! I have several friends whom I would delight in sending these to.

on

This is an amazing giveaway. I would send one of these postcard to my 8 year old grand-son who just came out as non binary. My 20 year old child are trans non binary and my grand-child are talking to them to try and understand their feelings. They were having a visit here this summer and I found them in my room with the door close watching my little pony. They tried to hide and burst out crying when I said it was ok. They are living so much anxiety because of the fear of being judge. I hate to see them like this. We are taking every opportunity to celebrate the queer community always but in their presence especially. Love to everyone.

on
unazel, Latvia

on
BorjaBoroda, Russia

Hello. I would like to send these postcards to those people who are not afraid to be themselves. Russia is now behind the Iron Curtain. People inside the country are persecuted and discriminated against. It is very difficult to tell the truth, because you will be put in prison for it. But you must continue the fight, you must keep the faith. And most importantly, you must know that you are not alone. And even one postcard received can give hope.

on
Bawissa, United States of America

I’d love to send these to anyone in the LQBTQIA+ community or even some allies. We all need something to brighten our days!

on
QBert, United States of America

I would send to 2 old friends from high school. One had the support of his family to come out in his late teens. The other one had no support and hid it his entire life. Being Christian, he went through counseling and "therapy". He got married and had children. Now at age 52, he has come out and finding his true self...with the support of his children, a younger generation that is much more accepting of the LGBTQ+ community.

on
lindseyjae, United States of America

These are lovely! I would send to LGBTQ+ folks here on Postcrossing <3

on
Pipster, Spain

Beautiful cards 🌈 and such positive messages !
I would send one of these cards to one of my besties over in the UK. She is proud to be gay, just loves post and it's quite a while since I found exactly the right card for her.

on
seachange, United States of America

Depending on the selection, if I got one about being gay and fab, I would send it to my long time friend who had to leave his birth country because he is gay. I know sometimes people ask for LGBTQIA+ cards so I would also send them to other postcrossing folks. If I got one that referred to people who are bi, I would send one to my long term friend who identifies as bi. And all of them would be sent out. Thank you for thinking of me.

on
Tarane, Germany

I would love to send these cards to a childhoodfriend of mine...
I haven't seen him for a decade and only learned through some other friends that he is gay...
Back in the days I was pretty close to him and saw him as an older brother...

on
littleglitterwoman, Germany

Good words, but I'd keep these cards here and not sending them further if I'd win, because they can easily be misunderstood. As sorry as I am, but it's easily misunderstood. He/she who may receive it not necessarily needs to be in the queer scene.

on
mapcardcollector, United Kingdom

I would send them to anyone who is open-minded while being mindful of the lack of acceptance in some cultures.

on
MythOwney, United States of America

I am an ally so have a lot of people to whom I could send one of these. But lots of people can use positive vibes and encouragement. I love the idea of sending one to a postcrosser who identifies as LGBTQ+. I can also see sending one to someone featured on "moreloveletters" who needs a little boost. It would be great if they would make these printable like the World Postcard Day design so whenever I needed one, I could get one!

on
kintsugi, Germany

Beautiful cards! I drew one, too, an elephant "love is love" one in rainbow colors, so it's really interesting to see these and read about it. If I won any cards, I'd use them for postcrossing and penpals. :-)

on

Love these cards! They would be great to send out to anyone I love <3

on
scrabblebum, United States of America

I always look for clues that someone on postcrossing is LGBTQ+, and I like to leave clues that I am. Often I don't have a related postcard to send them when I want to, so these would be perfect to send. The first time I got a card from a postcrosser who said he was gay, I was in heaven. I felt that my wife and I were not alone. I want others to feel the same.

on
Clara44, Netherlands

I would like to send these beautiful cards to everyone who needs to know that everyone can be themselves, and especially to countries where this community has an extra hard time because it is not yet socially accepted there.

on

I also have a friend who is a wonderful drag queen who would be thrilled with a card like this. I want to introduce Postcrossing to them as well so they could enjoy this pastime!

on
ugurcan, Slovenia

I would love to send this postcard to my queer friends and one of them that I met actually through Postcrossing :)

on
stickerhappy, Canada

I am lucky to be in several communities where we are unquestionably, proudly, boldly queer, so I might not send this to anyone I know personally. But I know there are many who are not so lucky, and may rely on the many organizations dedicated to supporting queer and trans youth financially, medically, or via housing. I'd love to send one of these postcards to, perhaps, a LGBTQ+ youth shelter in the hopes of brightening someone's day, which is what exchanging cards on Postcrossing has done for me so many times over the years!

on
ktbela, New Zealand

I would send one to my beautiful partner, who lives in a different city, to remind them how much I love them. She is hopefully going to be able to start medically transitioning very soon, a big positive step in their gender journey. Although I cant be there to support her in person at the moment, I can be there in the form of a "postal hug."

on

on
AmandaB, Germany

The postcards are as beautiful as the idea. I have always been a strong LGBTQ+ ally, even more so since my daughter come out as Pan-sexual and I had to realize that it is still not as easy as it should be to be your true self. Sometimes it's just little assumptions that turn into huge revelations such as a friendly colleague enquiring "does your daughter have a boyfriend". Anyway, I'd send these cards to friends near and far trying to make people more aware of these awkward moments for everyone involved reminding that a more neutral approach - in above mentioned case "does your child have a partner" make it 100% easier for everyone to be open about who they are

on
booters, United States of America

This is fabulous! I am really happy that postcrossing is openly acknowledging us. I had never heard of this museum and I would love to visit it! I am a gay man and I would like to send LGBTQ+ themed postcards to my fellow postcrossers who belong to our beautiful family or to our allies! We are everywhere but we don’t all have the same rights and previleges. We postcrossers can decide to gently support and spread happiness in the community through kindness and postcards ❤️🌈

Ever since joining postcrossing, I've been awestruck with how powerful and amazing it feels to find fellow queer postcrossers and to receive and send queer cards from and to each other. The first one I got, a New Yorker cover with two brides, moved me so much that I cried, because even though I knew it'd be possible to receive cards from queer postcrossers, I never thought I'd get the honours of being the person to get one of these cards. I think it's beautiful if we're able to continue this little valuable cycle, so I'd love to send it to anyone who's queer and a fellow postcrosser ❤️

on
NebulaKnight, Malta

I would definitely send these to postcrossers who are part of the LGBTQ+ community

This is such a beautiful idea, from the museum to the giveaway itself, it just makes me so happy <3 I would probably send one of them to my best friend from highschool. She basically knew i was queer before i knew myself. Since being your authentic self wasn't always very appreciateed in our school, she was the only person i could ever openly talk about these topics with. The others I would probably send to other fellow LGBTQIA+ members on this wonderful website <333

I also have a lot of profiles who want these cards.
Best regards Christine

on
Luziaceleste, Brazil

I am doing some maths here: 100 postcard x 5 means 500 actions of support and encouragement. And this is just a remind, we can always be supportive and empathic.
There are plenty of room for these actions in the world. Greta cards, not hard to find someone that would be pleased, being LGBTQ+ or not (another day I sent a LGBT card for a mother of a gay guy and she was quite happy)

on
Helen1955, United States of America

I would mail these post cards to friends who need moral and physical support !

I absolutely love these postcards! My girlfriend and I just celebrated our 3 year anniversary and one of the biggest things we bonded over when we first met was our love of sharing the joy of postcards. on

I’d love to send them to postcrossers who wish to receive that type of cards 🥰🌈

on
Queen_of_the_Hounds, Australia

I would send the first card in the pack to my best friend. In 2001 he was my flatmate and pretending to be straight. The next year he came out to select people including me. For years I was his "Beard" and pretended to be his girlfriend at work functions. On this side of the world things have changed and people are more accepting. Same sex marriage is now legal. Today my friend lives with his partner and everyone at work knows he is gay. His strict and homophobic father had a heart attack and after this life changing event mellowed - they now are both invited to Christmas and his partner is treated like family. I am so glad that life is different for LGBTI+ people today and it is my wish these changes happen in all countries.

on
marilenaki, Italy

These postcards look so fun!
I would definitely send them to other postcrossers!
Being open to all must be a state of being:)

on
liinanokosmosa, Greece

Oh, wow! Such a beautiful concept, one of my favourite subjects is to send and receive postcards with a story, where you got it from and what it tells. LGBTQ+ is a theme I love to receive in my mailbox, but not that often I have got them, so by getting those postcards it will be a chance to send more of them around the world. Beautiful 🌈

on
ladymelody, France

🏳️‍🌈💟 🏳️‍🌈WoW! such an amazing idea and giveaway, thanks a lot to Deloitte for this wonderful gift.
If I win I would just like to spread love around the world to a person who I feel needs it the most, whether through a postcrossing profile or a friend who crosses my path. These postcards theme needs to be more widespread.🏳️‍🌈💟🏳️‍🌈

on
Knirin, Germany

Beautiful idea and postcards!
I would send one to a dear friend that I only rarely manage to meet in person... and one to a member of the LGBTQ+ community that I think needs a positive message in the inbox. on
AndyBeau, United States of America

To start, I'd send them to my friends Tom and Tod, two amazing gentlemen who have faced so many challenges in the course of their relationship. Possibly a cousin of mine who struggled growing up in a family that isn't as welcoming as they deserve. Neither are postcrossers, but I enjoy reminding them that I love them and that I'll forever be an ally. Then I'd covet the remaining postcards until such a time as I find fellow postcrossers who identify themselves as members of the LGBTQIA+ community.

on
Chia-Cheng, Taiwan

What a wonderful giveaway!!! I'd love to send the cards to my friends I met at the Pride Parade!!

on
Eef_NL, Netherlands

I would send these as officials to people of the LGBTQ+ community who would love to receive such cards 🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍⚧️

on
XxXthalyaXxX, Brazil

This collection of postcards is really lovely, as a member of the lgbtqia+ community I would send them to anyone belonging to the community, I know how difficult it is to find support and self-acceptance, how lonely it can be to be in an environment where you are the only one who "runs away" from expected by family, friends and society...I believe that even simple gestures, like a specific postcard about this(LGBTQI+ community), with kind and friendly words coming from someone who has gone through what that person is going through can be very welcoming and motivating, in addition this could be the beginning of a genuine friendship. I love spreading love in a world with so much hate, and these postcards can be mediators of that...

on
alpacarolo, Chile

I would like to send them to all those Postcrossing profiles who like LGBT-themed postcards. In my country, not many postcards of this type are published, so it would be a super good opportunity 🏳️‍🌈

on
Annedread, Netherlands

Such gorgeous cards! 😍 I'd love to send them to anyone in the LGBTQIA+ community and their allies, in my own circle or through Postcrossing. We all need to spread words of love and kindness whenever we can! 🏳️‍🌈💜🏳️‍🌈

on
setvogel, United States of America

Many decades ago when I was in college, a young man pursued me. After our first date, he told me he was bisexual. As time went by, I fell in love with him. We traveled to New York and my time in Manhattan that week was unforgettable. In the end, he preferred men. I was devastated but loved him, meaning I accepted everything about him. Fast forward many decades and my youngest daughter lives in New York. One of her roommates was a gay man. He has been a friend and an ally to our daughter. They traveled to the Dominican Republic together, his home. He made a party out of helping her move, and they remain good friends. My husband and I have told him he will always have a place to stay in California. I love the resilience and the passion of those who have chosen to live according to their true identities despite the odds and the trials. We fly a Pride flag every June, all month long. I support our local LGBTQ+ center. This packet of cards would not last long. I would be honored to be given one and thrilled to share them.

on

I would love to send these out to postcrossers collecting stamps, because Germany recently distributed Limited Edition Stamps featuring the inclusive Pride Flag. These Postcards would be a perfect addition to those amazing stamps.

on
Treibholz, Germany

Germany's postal service "Deutsche Post" has issued a special stamp on this theme. The postcards would fit in perfectly and I would send them to the relevant postcrossers.

on
ANNE0213, China

on

What a great giveaway that could bring positivity to so many people. I have some friends in mind that would feel really cheered up by these cards.

on
xoxSofia, Slovakia

These postcards are super awesome and encouraging! I would love to send postcards to some of my pen pals who are part of the community, I would also love to find someone in my own country, which is not very accepting to show them my support! People should not be defined by who they love, but what they love. Sending hugs to everyone ❤️

on
shanaqui, United Kingdom

I'd definitely have to send at least one to the owner of Portal Bookshop in York, Lali! I think they'd love one, and it's the kind of cheerfully queer vibe they are brilliant at sharing.

on
Irmao-das-Almas, Brazil

I always do my best to get a card that meets the wishes of whoever I'm sending the card to. I would love to have some of these cards to be able to send when someone requests them.

Those are really lovely cards! It would be a hard choice whom to send these to (they would be gone way too soon), maybe I couldn't even part with all of them, but use them as decorative items instead.

on
MrsDingo, Germany

I would send one card to a queer friend in the UK who I met t a concert in London. They are such a lovely person who deserves the world. The rest would go out to other queer postcrossers and maybe I would keep one for myself and decorate my office with it, as a reminder to always stay true to myself.

on
greenchickenpie, United Kingdom

I once sent a postcard to an LGBT activist in a country where that is not a safe thing to be and there was an amnesty campaign to support him.. As an L myself I hugely admired his courage. I'd definitely have sent one of these to him. And I'd send them to all my multicolored LGBT friend in the UK and around the world with a few reserved for my LGBT postcrossing family too

on

Support is important! I’d definitely send some to postcrossers and use others as bookmarks. This way, people would know it’s a safe space. If anyone asks about it, I’d write on the postcard/bookmark a note and give it to them.

on
KitchenTable, Canada

I would send one to my step-mom and mom. Having 2 moms was hard in the 90s even in one of the most liberal cities in the US and it took me a long time to recover from the bullying I faced at school but my moms made sure that I knew I was part of a bigger community and that change would come, and it has, to many places at least. These cards show how much. I would send other cards to folks in the postcrossing community who say share that they could use some extra love because of feeling isolated because of being part of the queer community. Been their, have the tee-shirt and a postcard would have helped.

on
MiJo, Germany

Really beautiful cards on an important topic. I would send these cards to postcrossers who feel part of the LGBTQ, of course with the matching stamp. My favorite color is multicolored. 🌈

on
wendyquilter, Canada

I would send one of these cards to each organization that has withdrawn from the Capital Pride parade in Ottawa because they believe that Capital Pride has issued an anti-semitic statement. I think they are wrong to withdraw from the parade and I think they have grossly mis-interpreted the statement.

on
bhoomshaw, India

I would send this to my best friend who is a part of the LGBTQ community and is proud of it! I think she would love these postcards.

on
cataloger25, United States of America

I'm a Mama Bear. We're a community of mothers of LGBTQIA+ kids. Some Mama Bears are also part of the Free Mom Hugs movement. Mama Bears are dedicated to protecting and loving our kids as well as reaching out to LGBTQIA+ community members. My friend has a supportive family, but most of her queer friends do not. I'd send them these cards to let them know that they are loved.

I would send these to folks on Postcrossing who are part of the LGBTQ+ community and to my friends as well! I have a friend group from college, and we all came of age together and also realized that we ourselves are a part of the LGBTQ+ community. It's such a chance encounter for us all to have met, but because of this, we know that our friendships will last a long time. We are all over the US now, so I would send some of these to them!

What a lovely initiative and what gorgeous postcards! I would love to send some of these to any Postcrossers I come across that mention their being part of the LGBTQIA+ community, but one of them would definitely be set aside for one of my best friends who passed away a few years ago. He was the first queer person I met in my life, and we used to write to each-other all the time. We liked communicating in letters, even though we were classmates in high school. This habit we had is at the root of my love for PostCrossing, and I want to keep one of these for his sake.

on
Shalottslady, Belgium

Thanks for organising this lottery! As a teacher of 15 to 16-year-olds in a non-traditional high school (Freinetschool), it happens every year that students discover who they really are. I would love to give or send these cards to these youngsters to show them my support and let them know I'll be there for them.

on

These are absolutely wonderful postcards & I wish I had known about them sooner because I would've liked to be able to send them out to family & friends and fellow Postcrossers for PRIDE, but wasn't able to find anything appropriate at the time. on

Thanks for this lovely giveaway! I would love to send one of these postcards to other LGBTQ+ postcrossing members, but most of all I would love to write a message to my younger self on one of them, since I think recieving a message like this would have done me a world of good when I was a baby queer. Thanks to all of the lovely postcrossers who make this community safe and welcoming for all!

on
kleik, Poland

I especially like the postcard about the narratives that we all need so much. It's a big word of support for all people. The narrative creates space to feel the same as everyone else and at the same time be able to find support thanks to this not to be isolated and lonely. It's worth daring... Postcards are very special and I am wondering who I could give them to. I think I will use my intuition for this gift. All best, Natalia

I would treasure a pack of these postcards and would send them to my friends near and far! I would keep some to send to postcrossers that indicate they are queer on their profiles, like I do!

I have several classmates that have come out as being gay or lesbian since we finished school and I am sure they would like getting one of these. Any others I would send to others postcrossers who indicate they would like this type of postcard. Joseph

I would love sending these cards to postcrossers that state in their profile that they are interested in lgbtq+ cards or part of the community. I would pair them with the german pride stamp to get the perfect package ☺️🏳️‍🌈

That is awesome. Being part of this wonderful community is such a heartwarming for me. I would love to share all the love with other postcrosser, also speaking of ACE people as I am. I am also working in an hospital, with a section dedicated to transgender people. It is very important for me that they feel safe when they come !

A very cute contest! thank you for what you are doing) I would send these postcards to my online friends, with whom we have been communicating by correspondence for several years. we live in the same country, so maybe I would have given them away when we met, but they will get them anyway if I manage to win. they belong to the community and each of them needs special support. I want to wish love and health to everyone who sees this compentarium! Thank you.

I will initiate a chain challenge on the most popular social media platform in China, "Xiaohongshu app". The LGBTQ recipient of the postcard must upload the received photo to social media.

I am living with long covid and I get through the tough days with the support of the amazing online long covid and chronic illness community. Some of my new long covid friends are also part of the LGBTQIA+ community and this intersectionality of minority and disadvantaged identities can be difficult. I would this send these cards to those people in my support groups to cheer their day and reinforce that dignity, validation and joy can be found in every path through life, chosen or not.

Lovely cards, though I like smaller shown statement motif cards more than the huge imprints. I think the rainbow flag is a symbol for all persons who are different in some way, including disabled persons. I'm in the disability community, I have limitations on gait since always, but never let it pull me down, and if I meet (or read) other post crossers profile that includes diversity interest and from them L G B T Q I community, I'd send half of the won package to them.

I'd keep the rest for my folders, and journals.

Great cards and a great cause for a giveaway! I'd happily send them to anyone who mentions being part of the community or an ally in their profile, but also keep a couple or more for my close friends.
