Some time ago, we were contacted by Wanting Luo (Celery0625), a student from the University of Cincinnati who was using Postcrossing as a theme for a design projects. His idea was to create a infographic which would show the project’s evolution throughout the years.

The result is the lovely graphic above. It features a lot of facts about Postcrossing, including our growth curve, most important milestones, which countries have been more heavily represented throughout the years, and a lot of other interesting details. Have a look and let us know what you think!
PS – This is a big image, so depending on your screen, you might have to scroll the window sideways and vertically to see it.

That's a great graphic ~
omg :) that is very awesome and interesting :))) good job to thta student!
That's beautiful and SO full of info!
How fabulous!
Congratulations! It's a fantastic graph, so much thought and work has gone into producing it.
Beatiful, nicely done :)
Great Wanting Luo! What did your teacher say about it?
You should make this into postcards and send them!
Brilliant
Very nice! :D
Impressive. Great idea from nomadic_gypsy to make it into a postcard. I for one would be thrilled to get one. Very well done with the project and hopefully your marks/scores/results reflected the hard work gone into it.
@nomadic_gypsy & @ned44440: I think you would barely be able to read it in a postcard as it is, it would have to be somehow modified... but it's an interesting idea!
Very interesting!
That's really neat. Well done!
Very interesting and well presented.
Beautifully done! (Go Bearcats!!) :)
Interesting + beautiful design. Good job !!
Great!
cool ^^
No more can anyone complain that there are too many postcards from Finland. Sad to see them off the top of the list!! I think I might go and find one of my snow covered forest cards and lament ;)
This is very interesting! Thanks for sharing! :)
When I first saw it, I also thought it would be a cool postcard. I think it would only have to be a little bigger than a standard size postcard. I have many postcards that are larger than 4x6. The postage to mail them is a little more, but it would be worth it. You did a wonderful job. I too am curious on what kinds of marks you received from your teacher.
If you do make a postcard of this wonderful piece of work I would love one.
Thank you for loving it!!
@katskity: I got A- for this course.
I will try to find a place to see if I can print it on a postcard. Anyone who would like to receive one please contact me.
I love it! :)
Wow, it's fantastic Wanting! Well done & really beautiful to look at. Perhaps a poster then, if not a postcard??
This is a great pictograph of what's going on in the postcrossing world. I wonder if it will make Paulo do something to represent smaller countries a bit better. Maybe allow the users from least represent countries to be able to send out more postcards? Or even put a limit on users from the most represented countries. I mean just to balance it out. Or maybe the software checks and if you have sent/received more than let say 5 postcards from a certain country, then for a few months you won't send/receive a postcard to that country.
Love it! Wonderful graphics and easy to understand information.
Fantastic graph thanks...
BRAVOOOOOOOOOOOO, more of this!!!
waow !
great work :)
Great and interesting!
Nice job!
So cool to see the growth and what a beautiful and clear infographic it is!
Ooo it's brilliant! I'd love to be able to buy a print?! It's like a work of art :-D
Awesome! Very informative. I love the colours. :-)
Great job!
Normally I hate graphics, but this one is almost a work of art. He combines facts and figures with a playful layout, soft colours and written text and suddenly there is emotion in it. Wonderful.
Great job!
I do have a question though: where were the Netherlands in 2011?
I can't imagine we were totally out of sight between the scores in 2010 and already in this year.
Pomegranate!
Such a lovely half-pyramid graphic x)
Great work! It reminds me the art works of National Geographic and similar magazines!
What a fantastic job
Outstanding! Great that you chose postcrossing!...and bright person like you struggles with "cooking?".
Very Nice! Really puts the growth of our little hobby in perspective, doesn't it?
I really like it. Great job!
brilliant! i am so happy and proud to be part of this little project that got all the way to the moon and many times back :)
In addition to Wanting's info-graphic being beautiful, it also has a few great interrelated stories to tell. It certainly makes me proud to be a small part of it, as each of us should be. I would be grateful if it were made available for purchase as a wall poster, like others have stated here. I hope Wanting received an A+ for his design project.
Interesting and well done project! It would be interesting to see a web page giving the history of how Postcrossing got started and how it progressed - when each country started participating, etc. for those of us newbies
Someone was saying: If you make a postcard of this graphic I would love one! I can say: I would love one too!
It really is: WOW!
Looks like a postcard in its own right!
Wonderful information collection and representation... Very happy to know the stats...
this is an excellent project - the simplicity and depicting the project as a postcard is genius - good job
