Well well well… what have we here? Could it be… a music video featuring a ton of nostalgic postcards?! :D

We couldn’t resist sharing this catchy tune, which is the newest single from Sunderland’s band Frankie & The Heartstrings. Enjoy!

So, we’ve just spent a few hours putting all of your submitted photos for the birthday contest together in a little video and we have to confess that we are currently feeling a bit teary-eyed… The two-hundred and seventy smiles that we have received from all over the world that have swept us off our feet.

Just look for yourself:

Thank you all, you’re the best! Paulo and I are currently wishing we could make a biiiiiig roadtrip around the world to hug each and every one of you! :)

Paulo’s little random number generator selected the following winners for this contest: Miza, arlene037, Mayalost, Patflash and Angerona. Congratulations, we’ll be in touch to deliver the code for your new pack of 60 MOO postcards!

No luck this time? Don’t worry – we have a new contest coming soon!

PS – Do you subscribe MOO's newsletter? They featured Postcrossing on their newest issue, and offered everybody 15% discount on postcards using the coupon 9MW4J4, until August 15th. Now’s your chance to make some neat postcards :)

If you’ve been paying attention to postal news (or our Twitter feed), you’ve probably heard of the recently uncovered case of a Philadelphia’s postal hoarder. Over the years, this postman managed to collect over 20 000 pieces of mail in his garage, including “love letters, checks and gift cards, as well as hundreds of packages” that are now being delivered, some with a delay of over 10 years!

To this evil postal worker, we’d like to dedicate a very appropriate song by the Presidents of the United States of America, titled “Some Postman”:

Every now and then we stumble on little gems on Youtube that are somewhat related to postcards – some of them are so weird and funny we cannot resist sharing them with you!

Meet Claes Eriksson, Swedish actor and composer, who did this cute little sketch:

We don’t quite know what to think about it, but the tune is quite catchy! :)

Today we want to share with you a touching talk about something that is particularly interesting for many Postcrossers: the lost art of letter-writing.

The speaker is Lakshmi Pratury and she shares her view on the importance of (hand-)writing in an age of technology; how writing has created a special bond between her and her father that no technology would be able to.

We felt really inspired after watching it and we hope you will to.
