A group of Taiwan members is organising the fourth Postcrossing meeting in their country – and they’ve been preparing a special surprise for the event… a Postcrossing cancellation mark!
The meetup will be held on May 26th, in the city of Taichung, in Central Tawain. The group was granted permission to set up a temporary Post Office, and use a custom-made cancellation mark, which was drawn by weital. Here’s how it will look:
Isn’t it exciting?
Dodd, the meeting organiser, and all the other attendants are happy to have the first special Postcrossing cancellation, and would like to share it with 50 postcrossers around the world!
Thank you to everyone who responded – the 50 postcards have all been assigned!
For more information on this event, please check the meetup’s forum page.

Wow!! I'd like to one...I love that cancellation mark
What is a cancellation mark? Cancellation means annulated, terminated, does it not? How does it relate to postcards?
Great idea! AnneMarrit, a "cancellation mark" is the printing that the Post Office puts on a stamp to show it has been used - it's called "cancelling" the stamp.
too late :( But i wish you happy postcrossing meetup and look forward seeing pictures from your event :) Have fun!

Wow-I hope I know someone going to it lol.
First of all, this is realy realy realy great that Taiwan has got the world first cancellationmark on a temporarily postoffice! Someone did a great job speaking to Taiwan Post and realizing this.
MAY DAY for Taiwanese postcrossers attending this postcrossingmeeting!
this is an emergancy call for a postcrosser who loves to sent out a card to ME with the beautiful cancellationmarks from the temporarily postoffice.
I can offer you something in return which might be on your wishlist. My most favourited card is a card from Anne Frank, I have some left - it is including the two 1982 stamps who where issued together. One of Anne Frank and one with an airplane.
If you are interested or if you have another wish please contact me!
Wishing you a happy postcrossingmeeting. Please upload some photo's on the forum.
Wish you a lot of of fun on your meetingup!
