Will the website be translated into other languages?
No, not any time soon. For Postcrossing to work, there needs to be a common language among all participating members, so that they can communicate through the postcards they send and receive. In this case, English was chosen due to its widespread online usage.
If the website is translated into other languages, a member can sign up without sharing a common language with other members. This member would only be able to send postcards to those who speak their language... reducing the diversity that the project aims to provide. Hence, it is a requirement to be able to read and write basic English to participate in the project.
